We believe this to be an early example of Rowley Gallery inlay panel work. It was designed and signed by A J Rowley, the founder of the Gallery. The reverse ’Art Tree’ label is also early as it is addressed 140 Church Street, Kensington before the extension of the premises in 1912 to include 142 Church Street. It is after this date that the more familiar Pan label appeared.
