Saint Hubert of Liege (656 - 727) was a Christian Saint widely venerated during the Middle Ages and known as the Patron Saint of Hunters. According to legend, during a Good Friday hunt, Hubertus, pursues a deer without succeeding to catch it. As the animal turns around, exhausted, the hunter notices with amazement that the antlers of the animal are decorated with a cross.
