This bookcase was designed for the Liberty & Co Inexpensive Furniture 1907: The Library. This suite of furniture introduced a calm sophistication in contrast to the muscular and vigorous design of earlier years - P265 Liberty’s Furniture by Darryl Bennett.

CFA Voysey 1857 - 1941 was an English architect and furniture and textile designer. Voysey's early work was as a designer of wallpapers, fabrics and furnishings in a simple Arts & Crafts style, but he is renowned as the architect of several country houses.

Pierced cut out hearts and stylised trees are a trade mark of his work.
