Acquired directly from the family of Geoffrey Lupton and made by Edward Gardiner Circa 1920’s
Geoffrey Lupton was a British architect, furniture designer and maker. He had worked with Ernest Gimson and Sidney Barnsley in Sapperton during the early years of the Cotswold School movement. He also prepared and built the timber bridge at Hampton Court Palace
Lupton was a pupil at Bedales and later built the original school hall designed by Ernest Gimson and under supervision of Sidney Barnsley.
Edward Gardiner also worked with Ernest Gimson as a chair maker.
