An Ernest Gimson design modelled on the earlier Clissett chair after Philip Clissett. Chair designer and maker influential to the Arts and Crafts movement.
Ernest Gimson spent several weeks with Clissett learning the craft of the ladder back chair. Gimson then went on to create his own designs of the chairs and have them made in his workshop by Edward Gardiner.
